The Web-Based Interview

Hi everyone!
I hope you are doing well! I am currently battling a cold so that is fun. :) I am at work and in less than an hour I will go to dance class which is always a good combo with sickness.... NOT haha!

When I applied, I was invited to take the Web-Based Interview 10 minutes after I submitted the application. You can be invited 10 minutes after, an hour after, 2 days after, a month later. There are many possibilities and just like with this whole process, there is no pattern for you to figure out. I got the email and I waited a bit since I was helping my sister apply. I had to go to dance later that day and I decided to take it before I left, which might not be the best way to do it but it worked out. It took me about 30 minutes to finish and I still had time before I had to leave, but if you want to make sure your mind is clear you should wait until you don't have to be anywhere else. When you get the email, you will have 2 or 3 days to finish it before it expires so if you don't get it right away KEEP CHECKING YOUR EMAIL. I passed my Web-Based Interview and then was invited to schedule my phone interview which I will write about in another blog post later.

The thing about the web-based interview is you do not know what to expect at all. Sure I could have remembered some questions that were asked and you could write them down, but that would not help you like you think it would. This test is a pass or fail test and if you pass you can go to the Phone Interview stage. So yes it has A LOT of importance to it, but if I put the questions down and you try to study them, you will have more of a chance of not passing.

This test is designed to figure out your work ethic. How you handle real life situations and just how you feel about certain things. It is timed but don't be alarmed because you have enough time to answer. There are around 5 sections and each question will have multiple choice answers for you to choose. Disney has some questions that are the same as others but are worded differently. This is their way of seeing if you were telling the truth or not.

I know this sounds alarming and scary but it actually was very easy! If you are honest with yourself and choose the answer that fits you, it will be no problem!!

ADVICE:
When taking the test, read the questions out loud so that you can understand them faster and better. These questions are not paragraphs so you don't have to worry about that, but you do need to make sure you are understanding what is being said.

If you think it will help you, have someone in the room with you to help you choose what fits you best. My sister and I both applied for the program and so even though initially I planned on being alone when I took it, my sister ended up being there and helping me calm down and choose what is honestly more me.

BREATHE! You will be fine. You know what Disney is looking for and you feel like this program is for you so you just need to be yourself. If you don't pass, you don't pass and their will be other seasons that you can apply for. Just do your best and that way you will at least feel better about it and be proud of yourself.

That's all I have for this post! I didn't want to give away a lot because this is something better to just go in blindly. You don't want to be over rehearsed because then it wouldn't be genuine!

Good Luck!

See ya real soon,
M'lyn Miller
