Class Registration!

Hi everyone! I hope your life is going swell! It is a Friday morning here in Colorado and we had a mini snow storm in our area! It will most likely be melted by the end of the day because the sun is out and shining! Finals week for me is approaching and I am feeling the affects of it! So many papers, So little time. The countdown is getting shorter and shorter for the DCP as each day comes and I am definitely getting excited for what's to come! My roommates and I constantly talk about how excited we are for this new adventure and I just cant wait to meet them all!

Okay. So 2 days ago on the 16th, registration opened on DORMS for everyone to register for the classes they want! There are different categories in which you can register and for me I just registered for the Distance Learning since I will be taking classes from my campus.
So what are these different categories that you can choose from you ask??? Well I will tell you right now!!

1) The first tab that you will see is "Which course is right for you?"
For me there were no classes on this tab but I am sure they will be available to others that are actually wanting to take the Disney offered classes.

2) The second tab is called "Disney exploration seminar series"
Something to note while going through the site is if you are not interested in the different sections you can just click the "I am not interested in blah blah blah tab" Each section has one.
For this tab there were some classes listed and on the right you could see if it was free or if it costs money. The first class is Disney Heritage which is one of the most popular classes that Disney offers this one closes very fast so if you want it, make sure you write in your planner when the registration opens and make sure your internet connection is really good. Some of the other classes that are offered are: Disney Cast Engagement & Human Resources, Disney Hopitality & Guest Service.... Just classes that help you learn how Disney operates and how they are successful. I wont include every class just a couple from each section.

3) The third tab is called "Disney Professional Development Studies"
This is one that is more specific for people within that major. There was only 2 listed here and you would definitely have to be interested in those topics to do them! haha!

4) The fourth tab is called "Collegiate courses"
This one is definitely specific to interests of different people. There are a lot of corporate options, some hospitality options and some leadership options! There are some fees with this one and some of the other tabs as well.

5) The final tab is called "Distance Learning"
This is the one that I signed up for! I am taking 2 classes from my university and also getting internship credit. By signing up in this tab, I am able to get my hours capped and have some time to do homework. They have to approve the time and I may not always get that time off to do it but its nice to have that option if I need to use it. You will have to submit documentation that you are taking classes.

Something to note about the education registration and just the DORMS site in general is when you have these sign ups that you have to complete, everyone is trying to do them at the same time. That being said, the site crashes over and over again and you feel like you want to pull your hair out. I was at work when I signed up and I was going crazy. I would get to the last page to where I can confirm and it would crash. I went on the Facebook page and some people said to try using chrome and so I did and it worked!
So just make sure to stay calm in this whole process because its painful and a lot of people do want those classes!

Let me know if you have any questions!
See ya real soon,

How I have been feeling so far.

Hi everyone!
I hope you are doing well! I haven't written anything lately and that's because not much has been happening. I did get approved to use my DCP as an internship so that's pretty sweet! but other than that I have just been waiting for the day my program starts.

Speaking of, I have been having so many emotions and feelings about this whole thing. I'm not saying that I am ready to throw in the hammer and not go, but I definitely have been on an emotional rollercoaster. This will be my first time leaving my home and being on my own. While it is definitely about time, I am still going to feel hesitant about it all. I am someone that likes to know exactly what's going to happen (funny because no one really ever knows) and I like to plan everything out so for this to be something that will be a go with the flow and just experience it all is completely new to me. But don't worry am VERY excited and VERY grateful for the opportunity!

Some of the things that I am going through is that people have reached out to hang out and for some reason I don't want to. I think its my defense mechanism kicking in. If I don't hang out with them, I don't have to say goodbye to them. Luckily my best friend Ellie that I have known since high school is helping me get past that funk! We are going to go have a girls day shopping and what not with my other bestie Kimmy! (Shoutout to you all! The real MVP's haha!) Its important to know that I am not alone and that I have so many people supporting me! At times, I will slap myself and say "stop being a diva" but these are real emotions and its good to go through them and experience them. We all have that moment where we leave home and become our own person. We all have those moments where the unknown becomes too scary at times. We all have those moments where we just want to stay in our comfort zone and not feel any other emotion than happiness and content. But, its good to experience these things because it means we are growing and learning. We are becoming adults. NOOO! haha! JK. But really, adults have a lot of hard things they have to go through. I just want to sleep and not deal with it. haha!

As the months become less and less before I leave, I start to think about the time I will be saying goodbye. My older sister will be staying home and my parents are driving us there. Janae and I do not get along a lot but she is still my sister and I love her! I know that I will be sobbing a lot when I say goodbye because I don't want to leave her because now with me actually leaving and it becoming very real, I realize how much of a big impact she has on my life and how much I look up to her. We will always be sister. We will always have that special bond. I HOPE that we will not always fight but who knows.. haha!

Goodbyes are hard.. but they are what helps us grow and become better. Also, goodbye's are not forever.

Thanks for reading my rant on why emotions drive me crazy sometimes. Let me know if you have experienced this or are. We can share the best Netflix movies and shows that help us get through it. :)
